I have heard that some trikes have installed electric motors to assist in hill climbing etc. What do you know about this??

In my City, someone just got a fine for going over 60 kph with an electric motor.

If you follow my local news lately, you'd swear that Edmonton hates cyclists of any kind. We've just been forbidden to ride on any sidewalk that isn't pre-labeled as a bike path which are usually few and far between and never go anywhere other than really old residential neighborhoods where nobody uses sidewalks all because a few senior citizens don't like being startled by cyclists that don't have a bell.

They say that the ratio of cars to bikes is 75 to one so you can guess which voter body the city council will pander to. This city doesn't see the awsome potential of human powered transport.

Grrr... I wave my fist at Mayor Mandel !

Anyone live in a nice trike friendly city I can move to?

Hey Chris, Edmonton? Why in the hell would anyone live there? -35 most of the time & drunks, Pot Hole Roads & now another Beurocratic embarrassment for Democracy. At least here in BC we have nicer weather some of the time, more scenic rides, drivers & politics are just as bad but at least there are lots of Bike Lanes & trails to ride./Glen

Hi,
A few months ago I purchased an electric hub motor in the front wheel of my sun ez-3 delta trike.  It is very useful with all of the hills around here.  I use it only when I have a steep incline...or after I have been riding a bit too long...therefore alleviating my tired, burned out legs.

I have so many people that stop me around town asking how it is to drive or ride a trike.  I cannot let everyone try it out...or I would never get to ride anywhere!   I do use the trike to do some errands, providing the snow is cleared.  I have been riding quite a bit this winter, but have a feeling in the next few days we are going to get quite a bit more snow...blah!!!  I want springtime to be here NOW...lol
