I am looking for information and comments on the model 2010 KMX Venom, I have a Action Bent TX 1 that I ride 7 to 10 miles 3 or 4 times per week and am working up to 100 miles per week. I think I want a light weight Trike but am not sure, the 2010 claims 34 pounds, this TX 1 I have weighs 47 pounds because I weighed it with a hanging scale in my garage. I am not sure I know what I am looking for but this trike I have just appears very heavy when loading and un-loading plus when I am traveling along the road it acts very heavy. Any comments will be welcomed. Thank you. Bennie

I think you should shop around and compare some of the other trikes
available before making any decision. Catrike, Terra Trike, ICE, and
Greenspeed are all brands you might consider. The Venom looks like a
good trike, but it is MUCH more expensive than many other, lighter
weight trikes on the market. The KMX website indicates the Venom's
weight at 34 lbs only if you order it with an optional wheel package. Most
KMX trikes are heavy (the next model down from the Venom -the Viper-
weighs 42 lbs). I would contact the company to get the actual weight of
the trike with standard equipment. A couple of good places to do some
easy comparison shopping are Hostel Shoppe
(http://www.hostelshoppe.com/) and Utah
Trikes(http://www.utahtrikes.com/). They both sell a variety of trikes and
give you the opportunity to compare different models easily. Both are also
very responsive to customer questions.

I have two KMX Cobras... which I do like. The are slower then other Trikes without a lightwheel package.. However with a Lightwheel package they Fly.. Night and Day.
The Tube engineering and Tig welding are beyond compare for strength..
They Claim the Trike will ride away unhurt full loaded with 200+ lb rider from a 5 ft vertical drop and after lots off road with my KMX I believe it.
It's a jumping/pounding machine.
 ..Having said that......
There are lighter Trikes that will hold a Broader Framed Rider.
Plus on Pavement these Competing Trikes will have a Speed edge in the hands of the exact same rider..5% Plus
But these Trikes dare not follow the KMX on trails and Paths and hope to keep up.
