I have the opportunity to purchase a used Carbon Trike by Performer at www.performer.com, I am not familiar with this brand and wondering if anyone out there is familiar with it. This trike has been rode about 100 miles and the seller is asking $2700.00 for this, I cannot find any price on the Performer and do not know what the market value is. If anyone is familiar with this trike and model I will appreciate you comments. Thank you. Bennie

Not a bad price (the new price, not the $2700), although the bogus sales
pitch ("The Carbon utilizes carbon fiber to provide a smooth ride") makes me
want to smack some common sense into the writer.

I am also left wondering how well those joins between the carbon fiber
components and the metal 'connections' will hold up under regular daily
use.

May I ask who you are buying the used one off of? If it's Andy Ng from
Otrikes, my only advice is 'let the buyer beware'.

Bennie,
What part of Texas are you in? Have you spoken to the folks at Easy Street
Recumbents in Austin? They carry quite a good variety of trikes. Also there
is a guy selling a used Catrike Speed in the Dallas area. He has it listed on
the Catrike Forum.

Looks nice and not that expensive for a CF frame. But CF frames don't really give a smooth ride. I tried out a carbon framed bike a while back, same geometry as a steel or alu frame, and found it very harsh compared to steel.

The weight of 37 lbs is comparable with my steel framed Stein Trikes, bare working machine.

that $2700 better come with a bunch of extras (speedometer, pannier bags, mirrors, etc.), otherwise you are better off with a new one at a cheaper price.
