Thank you SO much for the information.  It has helped me settle it  "probably" between a Terra Tour  or a Sun Tadpole that is similar to the Tour.  I tried out both and absolutely had NO idea how much pleasure and exercise one could get from cycling....NOTHING like a regular bike.    Can you tell me your feelings about the Sun trike(not delta)?   It seemed to set up higher and felt a bit  more secure and easier to adapt to.   I am looking for fun, long term enjoyment and comfort,  not speed,  but it is important to get something that doesn't break down frequently or have problems.  I do hope to be able to ride for some distance, around the lake (I live outside of Ponca City, OK) up and down hills and flat areas, but not across country.    Thank you for any information you might give concerning the Sun trike.  Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,

Sorry, don't have any experience with either trike, though by report of many (you may want to check into the Trike Forum on BROL) both a good quality products whose manufacturer's stand behind them.

I have it admit, my preference of the two would be the TerroTrike Tour, mostly because it's substantially lighter and would be more fun to ride in all conditions. Then again, like I said, I don't have any experience with either.

As to potential maintenance issues, trikes are pretty much like bikes, maintenance is pretty minimal. Keep them clean, lube the chain regularly, check the brakes and cables and such, make sure the steering is tight and check all the bolts and nuts and screws (there's typically less than 100 on any trike, usually substantially less. It only takes me a few minutes to check all of mine. Do make sure you get the toe-in of the front wheels set right, as that will add to the wear and tear on both you and the trike if it's not. Otherwise, keep air in the tires and check the tread on the tires occasionally for wear. You should know how to change a tire if need be and carry at least a patch kit. You should also know how to unjam the chain and how to route it and how to link and unlink your chain. Those are pretty basic tasks I wouldn't feel comfortable riding if I didn't know them and they don't take much to learn or do. Of course, you can always just hand that sort of stuff off to your LBS but I strongly suggest at least learning how to do it. I'm sure they'd be most happy to teach you.

As for the exercise, yeah, it's great. And it's fun. Grinning fun. Doesn't matter if you go fast or slow, though I have to admit I like the fast plenty well. About the only down side on the exercise is it doesn't to much for the upper torso and arms. Ah well, such is life.

Hope you find your dream trike and you are off and grinning as soon as you can be. It's a wonderful life style.

Hi Dorothy, I can tell you that from my experience although it is as yet limited, Terratrike are very good quality & take customer satisfaction seriously. I can recommend Utah Trikes as a very worthwhile supplier but if you order frrom Terratrike direct they will send your oder to your nearest dealer to save on shipping costs. Personally, I found the seat height a little low for my 5'10" frame but it is easily fixed with an adapter bracket. If you have one of those Ikea Bent Wood Sling Chairs you will know what I mean. They look great but can be a reach to get in & out of./Glen

Greeting Dorothy ! I also reccomend the TerraTrike. I've had mine for two years and 2438 kilometers. No complaints whatsoever !  I've had the chance this summer to try a few other trikes and I myself am in favor of being lower. I had a mishap last year while riding on a trike that was seated higher than I was used to. Ended up turning too sharply and too quickly and realised too late that I was up on two wheels ! As soon as as I realised this, I was doing a faceplant. A lower center of gravity and a wider wheelbase prevents this from happening.

Attitude about golf

You must have a Self-Image and Belief that you can achieve your goal as we discussed in the first part of this article series and you must then develop a work attitude that moves you step by step toward your goal. The discount golf clubs vast majority of goals set by people never get past first base, in other words they never seriously take any action steps to begin the goal achieving process, let alone continue them.ishiner
